We bought our boat Wild Rose and discovered that she came with a 23-year-old watermaker … but does it actually still work? In this video, I take you along for a completely raw and unscripted look at my first attempt to figure out how this old watermaker works.
I’m no watermaker expert, so this is very much a case of learning as I go — working out the controls, figuring out the system, trying to understand what everything does and, most importantly, finding out whether this 23-year-old piece of equipment can still produce fresh water!
Will it fire up? Will it actually make fresh water? Or have we inherited an expensive boat ornament?
This is another part of our journey with Wild Rose, our 2004 Scimitar 1010 powered catamaran, as we learn the boat, test her systems and get her ready for future fishing, boating and exploring adventures.
