Fraser Coast Water Temperature Drop – Change of Season
Cold mornings, foggy skies and Ugg boots, yep it is winter on the Fraser Coast. Well, if the truth be told, winter on the Fraser Coast only really lasts for a few days, usually around the end of June when night time temperatures drop well below 10 degrees. July then sees the air temperature slowly…

Fishing Challenge – Three Lures Only Allowed
Are you up for a fishing challenge? One of the ways I like to challenge myself while fishing, is to try and catch fish using lures which I have never used before. Not only do I deliberately use lures which I have never used before, but I try these lures in the most basic way…

Match the Hatch to Catch Your Fish
All the best fisho’s that I have had the pleasure of fishing alongside of, have one thing in common. That being, that they are all incredibly observant, at times freakishly in tune with what is happening within the environment around them. Excellent observation skills, extensive experience on the water and a thorough knowledge of the…

Fishing for King Threadfin Salmon in Hervey Bay

Chasing the Drag Burners of the Sea
October through to December can prove to be a frustrating time for anglers on the Fraser Coast. Due to persistent northerly winds. The natural protection usually offered by the world heritage listed Fraser Island. To almost yearlong south easterly winds is mostly lost. As hot and humid air is pushed into the bay from the…
